While there are many farmers’ markets in Northern Virginia, Washington D.C. is home to one of the top rated farmers’ markets in the country. The FRESHFARM Dupont Circle market offers items spanning from organic fruits and vegetables to woodfired pizza and fresh baked goods. Open every Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., the market provides a center of commerce for over 50 farmers to sell goods and for people to shop and eat.

The market can serve as a place for breakfast or lunch, with options such as pancakes, smoothie bowls, sandwiches and dumplings. Shoppers also can buy fresh groceries, such as fruits, vegetables, bread, cheese and milk. Most items are organic, and there are many gluten-free and vegan choices as well.

“It [FRESHFARM Dupont Circle] was a perfect way to spend my Sunday,” Laurel Yano (’19) said. “I loved the breakfast sandwich I ate.”

FRESHFARM Dupont Circle is located in the heart of Dupont Circle, approximately a 30 minute drive from Madison. Drivers can park for free on Sundays on 20th St. NW. Another transportation option is taking the Metro to Dupont Circle Station.

“The market was easy to get to and the free parking was convenient,” Olivia Choutka (’19) said. “I will definitely be going back another time this fall.”
