Fairfax County School Board adopts new resolution on sexual misconduct

Vienna Wolff, Staff Reporter

In response to the numerous debates surrounding sexual misconduct in workplaces and in the government, the Fairfax County School Board on Sept. 27 adopted a new resolution about alleged forms of sexual misconduct.

The School Board hopes to achieve a safer environment, offering education for students and staff on sexual misconduct. Preventive education will also be taught in hopes of decreasing the amount of students who experience sexual assault. School Board members were reminded that these traumas can happen at any age in light of the many who have come forward with sexual misconduct or assault allegations as a result of the #MeToo movement. The School Board will provide support, education and continuing changes to the policies and procedures to best protect students and staff in the future.
