Report: Wawa to open in Vienna, location still to be determined
December 7, 2018
Wawa, an American chain of convenience stories and gas stations operating in the East Coast region of the United States, is opening a new location in the Vienna, Va. area, Tysons Reporter reported last Wednesday.
Initial reports suggested that Wawa would be opening at the currently abandoned gas station across from the Noodles and Co. shopping center at the corner of Park St. and Maple Ave. However, a Wawa spokeswoman told the Tysons Reporter that while the company is looking to open a location in Vienna, the exact site is still to be determined.
“I apologize for confirming the Maple Ave and Park Street address,” a Wawa spokeswoman told the Tysons Reporter via email. “This was incorrect and is not a location we are considering. We are still actively looking for new locations in Vienna and look forward to sharing confirms plans and locations as they take shape.”
Like with the location, the timeline for the Wawa’s construction is still to be determined.
The company has been expanding across the Washington, D.C. area ever since they announced last year to add 30-50 stores in the region.
