Warhawk Dance wins East Coast Regional Dance Competition

The Madison Varsity Dance Team competed in the East Coast Regional Dance Competition at West Springfield High School on Sunday, Jan. 27. The Warhawks won first place in the categories of Hip Hop, Jazz and Pom. These three routines were the highest scoring routines in the entire competition, with Hip Hop being the top score. Warhawk Dance has now secured the title of Grand Champions in this competition for the second consecutive year.

The team leaves on Wednesday, Jan. 29 for the Universal Dance Association National Dance Championship in Orlando, Fla. They will preform in the categories of Game Day, Jazz and Pom at the national competition. Rallying off of the past weekend’s momentum, the team looks forward to competing against teams from across the country. An update on their results from nationals will be posted when they return.
