Turkey Trot returns to Vienna streets

Madison Dietrich, In-Depth Editor

After a virtual race last November, this year’s 19th annual Turkey Trot will be back in person! The race will be on Nov. 21 and will start at the Vienna Volunteer Fire Department. Three different races will be offered: a one-mile fun run, a 5K and a 10K. The fun run will start at 8 am and the 5K and 10K at 8:30 am. After the races, runners will be rewarded with the Finish Line Festival, which will include music, food and prizes.

Registration for the Turkey Trot is open online now at https://racewire.com/register.php?id=12413. The fun run is $20, the 5K is $45 and the 10K is $50, and all proceeds will go towards funding the Vienna Volunteer Fire Department and the state champion James Madison High School Band. If you choose not to run, you can still donate directly to either of these organizations.

The Turkey Trot has been a staple of fall celebrations in Vienna for almost 20 years, and this year will be no different. Make sure to sign up to support the community and get some exercise!
