The 2022 NFL playoffs arrived, and soon enough, the Rams will be battling with the Bengals to win Super Bowl LVI. 14 teams successfully made the playoffs. The teams that made it from the AFC were the Titans, Chiefs, Bills, Bengals, Raiders, Patriots and Steelers. The Packers, Buccaneers, Cowboys, Rams, Cardinals, 49ers and Eagles all clinched a spot in the NFC.

The 2021-22 playoff games have been historically close. During the Super Wild Card Weekend, the only one score game was the Cowboys embarrassing loss to the 49ers, in which Dak Prescott played keep away with the ref. Every game in the Divisional Round was decided on the final play of the game. The Bengals, 49ers, and Rams sent off their respective opponents with game winning field goals, while the Bills and Chiefs both did not play defense in overtime. The AFC and NFC Championships were both exciting affairs as well, with Bengals kicker Evan McPherson ending another team’s Super Bowl dreams in the Chiefs and Jimmy Garoppolo throwing a beautiful game winning pass to the wrong team.

Although it may seem that the Super Bowl is all about football, there is way more to it. The Super Bowl is famous for putting on a very entertaining show. While many viewers get up off the couch to get more food or drinks during a timeout, others stay put to watch the commercials. In addition to the commercials, the game also attracts viewers by adding a Halftime Show. Five rap and R&B stars will take the stage at SoFi Stadium for the Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show. Rappers Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and Kendrick Lamar will join R&B singer Mary J. Blige during the Halftime Show. Blige is the only one of these artists who has performed at the Super Bowl before, performing at the XXXV Halftime Show. Super Bowl Halftime performers do not get paid, but the NFL will cover the cost of the performances. For the artists who are asked to perform at the Super Bowl during the Halftime Show, the publicity is worth more than financial compensation.

Now, to the game itself. The Rams and the Bengals had crazy games against their playoff opponents. The Bengals were down 21-3 in the second quarter, and managed to come back and beat the Chiefs in overtime.; the Rams had a game winning field goal against the 49ers. This is sure to be fun to watch as the Bengals have sensationational Joe Burrow at quarterback, who entered this season coming off of a torn ACL. He is complemented by star rookie Ja’Marr Chase and 1,000 yard receiver Tee Higgins, along with running back Joe Mixon. Rams cornerback Jalen Ramsey along with Aaron Donald, widely considered the best defensive lineman in football, have been a big problem in the postseason for opposing teams’ offenses. The battle between the Bengals offensive line, one of the worst in football, and the Rams defensive line, anchored by Donald, will be the key matchup of the game. Nevertheless, as both teams prepare for each other, millions of football fans are anticipating the big game.
